I Survived!

Yep, another survival of another country and an amazing experience!

So, as you may know I’ve been down in Costa Rica for about a week having a life changing great time with the locals and some of my good friends. We did all sorts of touristy things like tours of the national park, we went zip lining, we sat around at the beach. It has been such a great adventure.

I’m a bit of a hippyish tree hugger, so I love nature and Costa Rica has tons of it. I find it slightly weird, when I’m in Costa Rica I didn’t kill any bugs. In the states I am the master bug killer. Stomping out spiders is my favorite past time, yet in Costa Rica I couldn’t help but respect the parts that every insect and animal plays in the beautiful ecosystem they’re trying so hard to maintain.

I think that’s probably why I don’t mind killing “pests” stateside. We don’t have much of an ecosystem left to protect. Concrete and asphalt are pretty easy to keep alive.

So yeah, much respect to their ecosystem, and the people living there in Costa Rica. From my experiences, they are people like everyone else. Prone to mistakes and failures, but their mindset on life and experiencing it is different. They place a higher value on living life and interacting than they do on TV or whether Whitney Houston died of natural causes or an over dose. RIP Whitney, but it’s true. The people of America are going to be more pre occupied with that little detail rather than what’s the next step to better our collective lives.

What? You thought I was kidding when I said I was hippyish? lol

Nope, definitely the truth.

There are a few things I brought back from Costa Rica. The most notable, a nice tan from being out in the beautiful tropical weather. We were there for Costa Rica’s summer! Oddly enough, I didn’t get a bloody nose or get too dehydrated. Even though I probably should have, I had been drinking beer from the minute I woke up to the minute I slept this whole past week. Vacation is my time to be an alcoholic. I can’t bring myself to drink when I’m home and I know I always have something to do. Didn’t have shit to “have to” do in Costa Rica ;D Oh, and I didn’t bring back any STDs either lol I didn’t get the opportunity to truly experience the Costa Rican people. Not because I didn’t want to, it just wasn’t that kind of trip. Maybe the next time I’m down there.

Oh yes, next time. There are very good odds than in 3-7 yrs. I’m going to be one of those Ex-Pats you see running around down there lol

Sooooo, now that I’m stateside it’s time for me to get off the cloud and head back down to earth. Which means you guys have some naked people blog posts to look forward to soon instead of my incessant rambling and horribly directed blog posts. I’ve noticed I’ve stopped structuring them, they’re more of blurbs of the stuff blasting through my mind at a million miles an hour. Kinda hard to structure that lol

All right guys, until next time!

Sammy
